In its sixth edition, the Photographing the Unconscious workshop arrives for the first time in Barcelona in 2018.
The tutor Vitor Schietti and invited tutors propose a different approach to author photography. Here, the focus is not on the techniques taught, although important tools, but in the creative process behind the access to the unconscious, and how to learn to express it through photography.
With more than 50 students already graduated in previous editions of the workshop in Brasília / Brazil, Photographing the Unconscious is a process of constant learning also for the tutor, who updates it at each edition.
Long exposure, light painting and multiple exhibitions techniques will be teached. We will also approach meditation and the practice of lucid dreams.
The Espronceda Center for Art and Culture will host the workshop as part of its cultural program and the classes will be taught in the gallery and in the center’s studio.
This first edition will be in Spanish. Soon there will be an edition in English.

Field practice: applying all techniques taught.
Six years ago, after trying different styles of photography, Mabel discovered Light Painting and began an intense development of its techniques. She enjoys taking a landscape as if it was a blank canvas and paint it with light.
Since then she has been experimenting in light painting with personalised lanterns, lasers and other light sources, discovering new ways of painting with light, which will be explored in this workshop.
Eva Yogart, is an art therapist and certified international teacher of Power Yoga and Acroyoga.
In her yoga teachings she uses meditation as an integrated part of the practice of personal development and self-knowledge, helping build well-being and happiness through the discovery of the infinite possibilities of your inner self.
An excellent opportunity to learn new ways to visualize and record photographic images. Good availability of the teacher, good didactic, quite positive experience.
I loved the breadth of knowledge and references. In addition to learning, it helped me identify the next steps for my studies
The instructor has a good knowledge of the subject and knows how to share it. The examples and techniques discussed are very interesting and helpful to deconstruct the concretion to which we often get arrested in photography.
I liked the material presented. I liked the confident way that Vitor address the issue, and his knowledge and security on the subject. I appreciated the kindness with the participants.
